THE GREAT DISCUSSION

2037: Imagine a post car era in Sydney, where individual transportation is transformed into a world of bicycles, e-bikes, electric prams, solar mobility scooters, futuristically powered amphibian conveyance and personal flying machines.

This is the topic for "The Great Discussion", which will be held as an event in the Cameraygal Festival.

Monday 27th August, at 7 pm

at the Lane Cove Civic Centre, in the Council Chambers,
on the car parking level.

The discussion will be chaired by Don Murchison, with special guest panel members, who will include:

* Emeritus Professor John Storey - UNSW Astrophysicist and World Solar Challenge official.
* Dr Ray Kearney - Retired Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases, Sydney University.
* Kerry Chikarovski - former leader of the Opposition & former Member for Lane Cove.
* Ian Longbottom - Councillor; former Mayor, former Newspaper Proprietor & former Bank Manager.
* Stephen Bowers - Lawyer & former Mayor.
* Peter Brown - General Manager of Lane Cove Council.
* Joanne Cunningham - Greenwich Engineer & Project Manager.
* Clara Mazzone - Renewable Energy Engineering graduate, UNSW Solar Racing Team.
* Steve Panozzo - Caricaturist & Cartoonist, winner of 2010 Jim Russell Award.

Come along and solve the problems of our roads. This will be a lively, light hearted exchange, not quite 'hypothetical', nor 'Q & A', or QI, with an opportunity for the audience to direct questions to panel members towards the end of the discussion.

Entry:

Entry is by donation of a note,
with proceeds going towards bike racks in local schools.

Light Refreshments:

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served after the event, courtesy of the Lane Cove Council. This will be an opportunity to meet the participants. We thank the Lane Cove Council for supporting this event.
